Friendly Sons of the Shillelagh of the Jersey Shore (FSOS) is a social organization dedicated to the purpose of promoting and enhancing good fellowship, Irish heritage, and fraternity of its members. It is also a non-profit, non-sectarian and non-political organization.
The FSOS is a member only organization and supports local communities and people needing assistance.
The FSOS Started in 1964 by a group of 45 men in Old Bridge, NJ who petitioned Jackie Gleason for the use of the name and he graciously agreed.
The Friendly Sons of the Shillelagh of the Jersey Shore is located at 815 Sixteenth Avenue, Belmar NJ, 07719 and was started in June of 1991. In 1997 with a membership of approximately 150 members the organization opened its clubhouse and the membership finally had a home to call its own.
